Legal
Terms
These terms govern your use of this website, the tours you book through it and the donations you make through it. By using the site you agree to them.

1.Who we are
This website is run by Hackhouse Africa, 124 Manyani East Road, Nairobi, Kenya. You can reach us at info@hackhouseafrica.com.
2.What this site does
The site describes the Hackhouse space, its programs and its events, and lets you book a tour, send an enquiry or make a donation. Applications to the Hackhouse Residency are made on the Residency site under its own terms. Event space bookings and the community are on the community platform under its terms. Coworking memberships are agreed in writing separately.
3.Tours and enquiries
A tour request is a request, not a booking, until we confirm it by email. Tours run Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm, are free and carry no obligation. We answer enquiries as quickly as we can; a reply is not an offer of a place, a partnership or a desk.
4.Donations
- Donations are voluntary gifts to Hackhouse Africa and are not payment for goods or services.
- Payments are processed by Paystack in Kenyan Shillings; other currencies are converted at the rate shown before you pay. By paying you also accept Paystack's terms.
- Donations are one-time. We do not set up recurring charges.
- A donation is not refundable except where it was made in error, such as a duplicate payment; write to us within 14 days and we will put it right.
- We send a receipt by email. Donations are not tax deductible unless we say so in writing.
5.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Send unlawful, misleading or abusive content through the forms;
- Attempt to breach security, access data that is not yours, or disrupt the site;
- Scrape the site or use it to send unsolicited messages.
6.Intellectual property
The Hackhouse name, logo, photographs and text on this site belong to us or our licensors. You may share links to the site freely. You may not copy the site or its material for commercial use without our written permission.
7.Third-party links
The site links to other sites, including the Residency, the community platform, partner sites and social networks. We are not responsible for their content or their terms.
8.Disclaimers and liability
The site is provided as it is. We try to keep it accurate and available but do not promise that it will be. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of the site, and our total liability to you is limited to any amount you paid us through the site in the twelve months before the claim.
9.Privacy
How we handle your personal data is set out in our privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
10.Changes and governing law
We may update these terms; a material change is dated at the top. They are governed by the laws of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute. Questions: info@hackhouseafrica.com.
